Has anyone ever put ls1 heads on a 6.0l in a chevy 2500hd??? What kind of power changes would there be?

The LS1 heads and the 1999-2000 cast iron truck heads are virtually identical in design except for combustion chamber size (about 62 cc versus about 72 cc) and the material they are cast from (aluminum versus iron). In 2001, the 6.0 L engines (LQ4 and LQ9 versions) went to the 317 casting which is essentially a 72 cc version of the 243 LS6 casting). Beginning in 2001, all truck heads were also cast from aluminum. The 4.8 and 5.3 L heads were always aluminum. The 2002 2500HD listed in your signature already has better flowing heads than stock LS1 heads.

Another major difference is the bore size. The stock 5.7 has a 3.898 bore and the 6.0 has a 4.000 bore. The LS1 (3.898) heads are going to shroud the 6.0's 4.000 cylinder. The increase in compression would not be worth the loss in flow and shrouding.
