You mean heads.

You will want to get the bolt-ons before you step up to the engine mods. Read the sticky at the top entitled "Cam Guide" and the one in the External section... "Induction and Exhaust". That will give you a great start to the modding process. I could talk up a storm about all of the stuff you should get, but you will want to understand why you need it.

Your question is way to general to give you a good response. 400 HP in an LS1 is pretty easy. All the boltons first, then after you get the heads squared away then you can have a cam designed to match them properly. As for headers, they all yield the same HP gains pretty much. Buy based on fitment, material/coating, and price.

Why has the same general question came up like 10 times in the last few days? Its old already. Everyone wants to know what cam to buy so they can make 400HP. Use a 190/190 .455 .455 120 LSA

Search and read the stickies.

That said, don't get hung up on dyno numbers. You can't race a dyno. What matters is what it does at the track as taht measures actual performance.

A good setup with a big cam and strong baseline car plus proper tune can make 400rwhp. Don't count on it, but it's easily possible.

Actually, that is less than your stock cam you already have...so no. Please take my advice on this and read the cam sticky. I can cam quiz you to death all night long, but it will mean nothing to you unless you know what is going on.

Actually, scratch the cam for now and concentrate on some bolt ons. Headers are a very good start. Any 1 3/4 header would be fine. If you are on a budget go for the Pacesetter longtubes. This is something to contemplate too. If you don't have the money for the heads, you will not have the money for a proper cam swap.

Dude, he is taking that cam suggestion to heart. Don't confuse him anymore.

He is absolutely right. You really don't even need a big cam to do it either.

I was asking him, then I saw your other post.

PS: I merged these 2 together. Don't let us picking at you make you leave the site and never to return. We were sincerely trying to help you out. Well, kinda...Brad.

The easy way to stay out of flames way on here is to consolidate your threads into a few questions and not have ultra broad questions. "What cam?" is the absolute most broad question that I can think to ask about for any car related topic on/off line.

That being said, read the stickies. They do help, I promise. You will not learn the cam stuff overnight, so don't cram. If you have a question that you want to ask, but are not sure, I am on here most of my waking hours and will be more than happy to help you out. Send me a private message if need be.
