Default Head Gasket Q

LS1 cylinder head gaskets (98-01 F-body, 97-01 Corvette), pair = 12498543
LS6 cylinder head gaskets (MLS) (02 F-body, 02-04 Corvette), pair = 12498544

I have a 2001 block. Can I use the 02-04 Gasket and is it better to use? To my understanding it's the MLS Gasket

I plan on stock compression, just changing heads and cam to different ones. No boost, yet.

can use either,
but the mls should be favored over the graphite one if your block was decked and heads were milled,
if its just to replace a head gasket with no machine work done to heads and block, then stick with the graphite ones, the first version non mls ones

If you have plans for boost, go with MLS.
