Since I have been using it my oil consumption has slowed down. I am on my second oil change of it and it seems to be doing fine.

This car since day one used only Dino oil, I put in Mobile clean 5000, I have just a smidge under 2k on that oil and I checked it 2 days ago, oil hasnt budge, not a drop anywhere and nothing consumed and the oil is as clean as the day it went in.

I though penzoil was "yellow death"... Any links to the oil analysis results? I think this oil might be at my local auto store. Much easier to find than GC, assuming its up to par...

Yeah, the Platinum is good stuff. Get on BobIsTheOilGuy and see for yourself.

Then of course, if you wanna get serious, the Wal-Mart Super Tech synthetic posts great analysis results as well. But when Advance Auto Parts had the Platinum on BOGO sale, I stocked up. I hope it does something for this piston slap. GC isn't touching it.

Agreed, GC made my piston slap noticeably worse. Amsoil euro 5w40 seemed to help, but its not as readily available as store bought brand name oil.
