Default TR224 cam + prc 5.3 2.5 heads ... what cc?

I was told by someone I would want to mill to 58cc and put on with a .040" gasket. The ones I am getting are 63cc right now. Does this sound like a good plan of action? What kind of horsepower difference will there be, and how much does it generally cost for milling?

i am not sure to be honest with you ... if memory serves me correctly, I believe it is 112. Is there a difference with the heads?

Milling should only cost around $100, but it's money well spent. a 58-59cc chamber is what you want to run if you have valve reliefs. If running stock pistons with no reliefs, a 61cc chamber will still get your compression in the 11.30:1+ range with a .040" gasket.

You dont have valve reliefs from the factory. SO unless someone has had those heads off your current motor you dont have them. Honeslty there is no need to mill those heads. They'll peform just fine the way they are. I ran a tr224 112 lsa with PRC 2.5's and its a kick *** combo for street car. Now you might want to have them checked and maybe surfaced to clean up anything but you dont need to "mill" per say. Just have them checked and go with an OEM thick gasket and all will be good.
