Help!
Hi guys, I wasn't sure where to post this but... I give it a try here.
Anyways...
I need to pass emissions by Feb 22nd or my license is going down.
I really don't know what to do, how the F am I gonna pass it!
I don't have any check engine light, all codes are gone.
But look at this..
Tampering
Tampering is a term that has long been misunderstood. The Federal Clean Air Act of 1990 defines tampering as the removal, bypass, disconnection, damage or in any way rendering ineffective any emission control device or element of design that has been installed on a vehicle or engine. In summary, this means:
Removing any parts or devices that will alter the original emission configurations on a vehicle such as the catalytic converter, air pump and EGR valve. I got no converters, no air pump and no EGR. So all three gone!
Adjusting any element of a vehicle’s emission control design so that it no longer meets the manufacturer’s specifications.
Installing a replacement part that is not the same in design and function as the part that was originally on the vehicle, such as an incorrect exhaust part. Like a true dual system that end before the axle?! haha
Adding a part that was not originally certified on the vehicle
Tampering is against the law and does not improve gas mileage, performance or driveability.
I am in IL state. I need some advice, how the hell can I pass emissions.
Please help got month to go.

Man, telling You, this IL state law kills me, I haven't seen my license since mid 2005. For such stupid crap... like screeching tires, yea haha, the cop wanted to give me a ticket for squeeling, I told him the tires I have on don't squeel.. LOL.
Gave me ticket for beeing too louds, for screeching (not squeeling) tires and some other stuff.
Thats what I get for beeing a smart ***.
They will never leave me alone. Now emissions...
Also running on SR-22 insurance.
It's a mess. Almost 2 years since my last ticket... still paying for it heavy!
I need a break from this... race/show car only. I put 2k miles a year on it anyways... I think I qualify.
C'mon... sprayed T-rex with 4400 stall. Not really meant for street.

You say it's a race/show car. If that's true then just trailer it to the races or the shows and it won't need to be licensed, inspected, or insured since it won't be driven on the street.

Designating it as a show car is not going to fly. If so everyone with a performance car would do that. They have strict rules what qualifies as a "show" car, and most of the cars on the street don't. You have to insure it as such, show proof of mileage, etc, I seriously doubt that is going to work.
As far as your question, do you have a sniffer test? What kind of emissions do you have? If so you're not going to pass without coverters. So you need to get some cats on there, bottom line. EGR and AIR are probably ok because they are not advanced enough to check for that particular emissions equipment...most don't even know to look for it or what to look for.
