Heads to big???
Ok, i bought some heads for my car. i have a 346LS1 the heads are 241s but made for a 408. has 2.08 intakes and 1.60s exhaust. intake runner were 225s. Sorry i my specs are alil vage. What will happen if i used these heads?? Head guy said something about valve shroud and the runners were to big for a cammed 346.

Measure them and SEE what they are. They are hand ported 241 heads. Runners are NOT too big, weve used good 240cc heads on 347s and made good power everywhere, and weve used shitty 210 cc heads and made 0 power anywhere.
A port that moves no air in a small package is definitely no any better than a healthy sized port that moves a bunch of air WELL.
I dont remember them having 2.08 valves.

One time I installed a set of TFS Twisted Wedge heads on a 305. Do the valve-shrouding math on that one. 2.02 + 1.60 = 3.62". The bore size was only 3.74". That only leaves 0.12" extra to split between the valves, the exhaust valve and the bore, and the intake valve and the bore. In fact, anything over about .600 lift and the intake valve would hit the bore. Even though the valve-shrouding must've been terrible, they still made alot more power than the stockers.
