Default Piston to valve clearance

At what point do you have to worry about piston to valve clearance? .610 lift for example. Flycutting necessary?

you should be able to squeeze that in with stock heads/gasket/pistons.

The heads were cut 0.010, not too much.

clay is your friend. are the heads off? if so clay it and see where you are at. if it won't work, flycut and run a tighter gasket.

Clay it if the heads are coming off anyway.

No, I was hoping not to have to pull them. On the other hand, if I put this cam in I'll have to ditch the current 918 springs which may be easier with the heads off anyway. Dunno. Last time I paid to have the cam & heads done so, unlike every other car I've owned, I've never worked on my LS1.

What heads, if they have bigger valves and milled, that cam wont fit.

They're off of a 2000 LS1 and have been milled 0.010". Stock valves.

But, I also still have a set of stock, uncut 2002 241's. Only trouble is that they would need to be ported and the others already are. That's only gonna save me .010 though. I shoulda checked this out a little further before I bought the cam. My bad.
