Default G2-3 vs ls6

Fellas which cam would best meet my goal of 400rwhp with full bolt ons and a custom tune for my a4 99 TA? II plan on making a purchase within the next week so let me know asap. Does anyone have any time slips or dyno comparisons between the two?

do you mean gt2-3? if so, that is slighty bigger than the ls6 cam and makes a little more power.

you`re an auto ..... and with stock heads? I don`t think you`ll hit 400rwhp without FI or nitrous .... even with heads I dout it with these very mild cams.

the gt2-3 is the ls6 cam on steroids. Best way to put it. Sounds a little meaner, if you can even call it mean. Hell I have mine ideling at like 550 with alot of idle air tuning to hear it.

On the big end the gt2-3 makes better numbers.

I have LS6 heads and Cam in my 01 SS M6. EVERYTING ELSE is stock except an SLP MAF....EVEN A STOCK AIR BOX!!! It hits 12.5's on stock radials and gears, but it averages more like a 12.7. You cant hear any idle difference from stock....I love it!

I just took out my gt2-3. I ran it w/ 1.85 rockers. Passed off as a stock car but ran very well. It was smooth as stock but pulled much harder. And it LOVED nitrous, on a 75 shot it made 131rwhp.

My cars a 98 C5 a4, on a very conservative tune it made 369rwhp on LS1 heads and intake then 500rwhp on the 75shot.

The cam and rockers and nitrous were perfect for a sleeper or something the woman can drive w/ out any problems or complaints.

You'd easily run mid 12's. With my GTO, I ran a best of 12.32. That's a stick and 4000 lbs. A converter'd A4 F-Body should run a lot better than that and might even dip into the 11's.

With stock LS6 cam and LS6 (243) heads I went 11.77 and that is with my tuning and full bolt ons and a SS that has every thing on it but mine is a 6 speed and I tuned mine on the street. Some of the peaple on here like to wonder what the make on the dyno and I have started the tunes on the dyno but for perfection and you steet race like I do from time to time you need to touch them up on the street, good luck on your decision and god pless.

my uncle makes 380rwho in a 97 vette (stock convertor and 2.73 gears), with the GT2-3 cam, stage 2.5 absolute speed heads, automatic trans, ls6 intake, LG headers, stock catback and no under drive pulley.

I was always under the impression that you could NOT run 1.85 rockers with the gt2-3 cam ??? Where you using the stock ls1 heads (241) Did you ever have any problems, what springs were you using?

thanks Warren

Never heard that but the car came that way and I never had a problem. They were 98 heads "806". I was using 918's, its was around .630 lift but the cam was really easy on the valvetrain.
