Default Going to order custom cam! Best specs to pass emissions???

Well, i decided that I am going to order a custom camshaft for my motor. I am just wondering how far i can push the specs to be able to pass smog, i understand that a minimum of a 114lsa is required, and i have heard that a 224/224 is a good choice, however, im wanting other opinions and inputs. Maybe if i higher the lsa to 115 and go with a 226/226 i will still pass smog? how does it work?

It's not specifically the LSA that decides if you pass, it's the amount of overlap. Negative 6 degrees of overlpa at .050" lift is the commonly thought point where overlap is minimal enough to pass emmissions. LSA comes into play because we can raise the LSA to lower Overlap. You'd have to use an LSA of 116 on a properly ground 226/226 cam to achieve a -6 overlap. In reality, comp grinds on the large size so you would probaly need a 117LSA in the real world.
