Default Heads cam?

Im looking to put heads on my 2000 camaro. i want to use the Trex cam from thunder racing. i just dont knwo what heads to go with. i was thinking of patriot heads since there decently priced i just dont know about there quality. AFRs are nice maybe like the 205cc heads but there a bit pricy just wanted some suggestion and comments. supporting mods are loud mouth 1 fast, 90/90, pacsetter long tubes with ory, and lid and slp induction package, and 4:10 gears.

I'm at the same point you are - Going to put a Rex in next month and still haven't decided on the heads. I sent an email to TSP asking them about their PRC LS6 heads and their 5.3 heads. Are you willing to flycut? Cuz that will make a differance on the heads you choose.

Call Texas Speed and Performance, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Well I'm partial to AFR. WITHOUT a FAST 90/90 setup, a pretty mild cam, and through chambered mufflers I made some pretty stout numbers, and the 122 mph traps with a full weight car back them up.

In my opinion go with AFR 205s or the new TFS heads by Trickflow. You can get some good results from the more budget oriented heads, and you'll make some good power, but in the end you get what you pay for. I knew if I went with the cheaper heads, that down the road when I wanted more hp, I would kick myself for not getting them in the first place. Hindsights 20/20......looking back, I'm happy with my choice

You can flycut the pistons in the engine. No need to disassemble.
