Default 2002 4.8 w/ 2003 Intake

I found a 2002 4.8 with a 2003 intake (for using ETC).
The owner said that it requires a newer wiring harness
because the injectors have a different connector. Can
anyone confirm? Assuming I don't want ETC, so I swap
out the TB, is it true it will still require a 2003+ harness?
Is it something that's hard to find? Would a pre-2003
intake and pre-2003 harness be more available/cheaper?

Do the 4.8 and 5.3 share a common intake manifold?

Or just swap out the fuel injectors?

4.8, 5.3, and 6.0's all use the same basic intake manifold, they all bolt on the same except the 2001 and older ones have an egr and the 2002-on do not, I think that was the year it changed but all year intakes fit. If I was in your position, I would take the 2002 4.8 and put whatever truck intake fit it (2002 or 2003 etc. because the port designs are all the same) and get a wiring harness for a non-electronicly controlled throttle body and the injectors that fit that harness correctly and run it that way.
Well, that's my $0.02, hope that hepls.

Cool. I'm watching 4.8L sales and they seem almost worthless.
I guess the full-size crowd doesn't want them, but they're more
than enough power for an entry-level V8 for an S10 project.
