Default noisey valvetrain??

I just got through installing a LQ9 6.0 ltr in my car. I also installed my MS3 cam, PRC dual springs, retainers and locks, chromoly pushrods, double timing chain. Oil pressure is about 45 at idle but the valvetrain seems to be abit noisier than it was in my LS1. I only ran it for about 3-4 minutes. I lubed everything up well and torqued the stock rockers using GM manual. Should I just give it more time to run? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure I didn't pinch the o-ring, I put it in with the engine on the stand and payed close attention to it. I've read horror stories of this, so I tried my best to not. Haven't got the chance to start it again today. Hoping it will just quiet down after a few more minutes of running. How long should it take to quiet down? Don't know how long engine set dry. Used stock lifters w/ my valvetrain minus rocker arms. I just don't want to ruin my new cam. Thanks again.

That oil psi is fine.

What size pushrods did you use? If they are too short it can cause a noisy valvetrain.

bigger cam can cause more strain on the lifter, also more spring pressure can too

I would double check what size pushrod you are using with your application .

I'm using the ones that TSP installed in my LS1 when I took it there for the MS3 install. Are the 6.0 ltr and LS1's different? If so I've still got the ones from the 6 ltr and could put them back in. I laid them side by side and they looked the same? Thanks for the replies. Let the car run longer this time, but still making noise. Good oil pressure still though.

Let it run for a while so the lifters fill up with oil all the way.

That's kinda what I was thinking, it has only ran for roughly 20 minutes give or take alltogether. I pulled the pass. side valve cover off to look and check toque specs. I pulled one pushrod out, the chromoly's say 7.400 on the side. Side by side to one of the 6 ltr's the chromoly looks a hair longer? Thanks for the replies, all help greatly appreciated.

O.k., changed out the pushrods. Put the factories back in. It's still noisey. What's going on? This is getting the best of me. Thanks.

Where is the noise coming from, can you hear it under the valve covers or what? The double roller chain could be part of it possibly.
Also keep in mind that it is gonna be noiser with that cam and vavetrain setup anyhow.

Alright that's nice to hear. It's just this same exact setup was on my LS1 and it didn't seem that noisey. Might just be I'm paranoid, but it seems louder than before. Maybe it's just me? Seems to be running well, good throttle responce and everything.
