Default Best Budget H/C Combo Hopefully On Order!!!

Well after months and months of consideration and debate, I have made my decision and pulled the trigger on my parts swap. What do you all think (even though it's too late to change it now)?

PRC/TSP stage 2.5 5.3's w/ 2.02/1.57 valves and PRC platinum dual springs
TSP/Comp custom cam 227/234 LSK/XER .641/.598 110 LSA +2 advance
Cadillac racing lifters
Harland Sharp modded stock rockers
TSP chromemoly pushrods (length to be determined after install)
TSP ported shimmed pump
.o4o Cometic head gaskets
ARP series 2000 rod bolts, ARP 12 point head studs, and ARP balancer bolt
Fluidamper 10% underdrive aluminum balancer/pulley
most likely a Cloyes single roller hex adjust timing set (not ordered yet)

According to pianoprodigy's calculator, I should have an SCR of 11.18 with a DCR of 8.77 (that is actually higher than I thought I had calculated it out to previously). In fact I think I will go back and double check that, for some reason I thought I was going to be right around 8.5. Anyway, what do you all think. I will be retaining my LS6 intake and Jantzer ported T/B. Other mods include Kooks coated stainless stepped 1 3/4 - 1 7/8 headers, O/R Y, RandomTech cat back, McLeod twin w/aluminum flywheel, Strange Chromemoly driveshaft, Strange/Moser/Billingsley 35 spline 9" with 4.11's and a locker, with Spohn T/A and LCA's.

DCR sounds a tad high as you probably already know. Besides that, sounds awesome, I wouldn't mind rolling around in that setup.

If you drive 93, I can't see why you'd have any problems with that DCR. Mine is about that and I have no issues.

Sounds almost exactly like my combo I've planned, except my cam is going to be a 220/224 LSK lobed cam with 108+0 LSA. Should be a torque monster and still pull up high. As for Pianoprodigy's calculator, it doesn't take into account ring land volume which will drop your SCR slightly. Put in 1.1CC for piston dish and that should be roughly what your ring land volume is. Otherwise it looks great!

Thats good to know. I am not sure where I messed up before but I sure thought I came up with about 8.5 using that same calculator before. Of course I went over it again and sure enough it comes out to 8.77 using the calculator with the -.006 out of the hole number which I have heard can actually be quite larger. I guess if it ends up being too much DCR I can always retard the cam few degrees. I am just glad we did not decide to mill the heads any extra (we were considering that option but chose not to due to concern over the p/v clearance). Jason at TSP is confident that I will not have any issues with it the way it is but was not so sure if we started to cut them.
