Default head gasket spraying ?

Those of you that spray your head gaskets with copper spray how long before installation do you spray them? 5 minutes before installation, 5 hours, a day??

We just did it the other night. And my buddy sprayed one coat. Let dry 5 min. Sprayed a 2nd light coat. Let dry maybe 10 minutes and the put them on.
It will be a week before we start it. But I feel everything is OK. And my buddy has built a lot of stuff. He aint no dum ***.

Copper spray is to further help prevent leakage from such a rigid and unforgiving head gasket (which is why it is so strong). I sprayed a couple light coats on mine and let em dry only a couple minutes. It really doesn't matter. It's a copper gasket and you're heads get really damn hot. It's gonna all meld together at some point anyway.
