Default minus a cylinder bad for 20 minutes?

Hey guys,

In another post I was talking about blowing my air tube off my header, but my question is....

Would anything bad happen if I limp the car to my lift 20 minutes away? I've pulled the fuel injector plug for that cylinder. Is it bad to run on 7 cylinders and just let the air flow out of the one primary's hole?

Thanks Dave

I don't know the answer to the question, but I would probably reconnect the fuel injector, and just wrap the primary that has the hole in it with some of that "repair a hole in your muffler tape". It should work well enough for a 20 minute drive, just take it easy on it driving to the shop.

if all you did was drive it for 20 mins with an air tube blown off your header pipe you would be just fine, just annoying as hell 20 min trip...lol

Isn't it extremely bad to let open air get to your exhaust valves like that?

I know it will burn up the exhaust valve if it's hot, but, I was talking if there was not fuel in that cylinder, it wont get hot...

One of my worries is warping the block if that cylinder isn't hot and all

I got some sheet metal, making a temporary repair I guess
