Can someone help me please :(
Ok, I hope everyone is sitting down for this.
Ive been having a HORRIBLE ticking noise coming from the driver's side engine annnnd my friend CJ and I were looking into what it might be (Hes pretty much a genius with LS1s). We checked the whole valve train and everything was fine.
Bad news is, is that the sound is coming from the bottom of the engine
It sounds as though its either the back of the oil pan or bellhousing area.
We ran a compression test on the drivers side and here are the resultss.
Cylinder 1: 195 PSI
Cylinder 3: 200 PSI
Cylinder 5: 200 PSI
Cylinder 7: 190 PSI
Im not sure if its necessarily bad that numero 7 is that low.
Anyone have any ideas as to what may be ticking. It doesnt do it until after I get on it and we're 100 percent sure that its not a lifter or anything in the valve train for that matter.
I guess the first thing I should do is check my oil really good and see if I can see any traces of metallic dust or anything. If not, then I dunno where to start... Engine? Transmission? GAH!!!!!!w

its 99% impossible to diagnose ticking sounds on the internet.. even with a video. even in person its hard to diagnose what it is correctly. id look at your exhaust, make sure there are no leaks.. if your oil pressure is fine i wouldnt worry about it JMHO
