how long to warm up with cam...
before driving is it ok to keep the rpm's low if i just jump in my car and go? sometimes if im in a big hurry, i dont really have time to sit there and let the car warm up. i know not to go taching it up real high before it warms up but i mean like 1-2k rpm range until at full operating temp. is that ok with the mods listed in my sig????

with the aftermarket valve springs, i would at least let the temp gauge register something before taking it out. when cold those comp valve springs are damn near brittle

I usually let mine warm up about 1 min or so. Well at least enough to back out of the garage, pick a cd, and put on my seatbelt. Once driving I don't take the rpm's over 2k until the oil pressure has dropped to normal operating pressure.

5-10 min of idle, depends if I am getting ready to go somewhere or if has sat for a while. Then I drive around for 5-10 min just shifting at 2k and then after that then its open season on when I want to shift.

maybe if my car was a little quieter, i'd let it sit longer all the time....but my neighbors hate it to begin with and like i said....sometimes im just in a hurry

i wait for it to catch its idle, and maybe sit there for at most 30 seconds to a minute if im in a hurry before i slowly idle away, then it really starts to warm up and after about 5 minutes of driving at 2k or under its at 160*. just take it slow... it dosent really matter if the car is idling there by itself at 1500 rpm, or if its moving.

I'm more inclined to wait 5 minutes or so (until the coolant temps reach 160-ish) before I even move it. Changing springs is not something I enjoy doing, so I'd rather not risk it.
Jumping in the car and taking off is just as bad as putting 87 octane in the car when tuned for 93. You might be able to get away with it for a while. But, you definitely killing the life of your parts.

I let my car warm up until the engine temp reaches just over 100*. My car WILL NOT idle if i just start it up and go. I have to keep my foot on the gas and keep the rpm's between 500-1000 to keep it alive. After shes warmed up it will idle all day long right at 750rpm. I need at tune!

not really...yes, jumping in, revving it to 4k to warm it up, then pealing out of the parking lot is definitely bad (seen soo many people do that ) but putting around <2k-3k shouldn't affect it that much. Keep in mind, no matter what RPM your car is spinning, the springs are still being compressed to the full valve lift number each revolution. Those of us with automatics have it way worse...ever try to keep it below 2k with a 4k stall?

This is something I don't worry about. Just keep it @ 2000 until it's warmed up. I've seen too many race motors warmed up at 2000 RPM to think it's going to hurt the life of the springs.
Just don't be stupid and go WOT until you car is at operating temp. Just putt around for the first 5+ minutes and don't go much over 2000 rpm.
What's the difference with letting it warm up the first 10 miles down the road or letting it warm up at idle for 5 minutes?

Like most of the others, i let it warm up for about a minute on wrm mornings and a few minutes on colder mornings, just till the temp gauge hits the first line (100* F). Ill keep it low until the car has been at full temp for a while and the idle oil pressure has dropped.
+1 for all the good advice in this thread.
