Default 442 cam suggestion

need help on selecting a cam for my engine, i am really confused, i would like a fair idle and the max power on top. here is my setup.


1) 442 ci LS1 lightweight crank and titanium rods
2) ported LS7 heads + LS7 intake
3) compression ratio 13.5
4) FAST 90mm throttle

Lots of things will factor into this. What's the intentions of the car, gears, max rpm etc.....

We have a LS1 455 cu.in stroker. 4.186b X 4.125s
11.2 CR AFR 225 72 cc heads
Cam selection was a custom grind 248/252 .518/.625 112
Great idle with SD tune
Incredible power.
Car ran 10.92 @127 with street tires and closed exhaust, M6

thanks alot for the replies, i will be using this car mostly on the street and some racing. how would this cam work out: 236-246-120 lifts at 0.625. this car is an M6 and i am planning on a 300hp shot.

Fair idle and max top-end power upstairs means an intake valve closing point 54-56 degrees ABDC at .050" and overlap under 25 degrees at .050".

You'd probably want something like a 246/258 114LSA +2. Lobe lift would depend on spring selection. This would have a docile idle. If you could live with a harder lope, more duration with a narrower LSA would work better. Something more like this would work better for a strip application: 256/262 111LSA +2.
