Default head bolts and summitracing

I just made the head gasket post but i have another issue. I have no head bolts so i called summit to see if they were reusable arp's. They said yes, but no more that 3 times, which is $155. the GM torque to yield ones are $38, which x3 = $114. I am only running the Z06 package, nothing fierce. What should i do? DD car.

ARP's are reusable and yes, max 3x's gm's stretched to yield one time use.

Considered using studs (ARP)? That's what I went with and they worked great.

Seemed easier to do than using bolts as well.

Plus you don't have to clean bolt holes each time...which is always good.

My 2 cents, I don't think ARP head bolts are worth the $$$$$. All LS1/LS6 motors are built with GM head bolts, when did they fail? I think ARP bolts are worth the money in certain applications, but not here, again just my 2 cents.......

question about the studs, it looks as if you can't put the head on while in the car on the passenger side.

You can...I've done my last two sets with them. It does appear that it'll be close, but they will go on.

Just be careful to not scratch/damage the heads on one of the studs when you do it.

I'm not sure...but that's a great question. If so, I need to know...haha.

May have to call ARP today and find out. I wouldn't think they were...
