Default oil pressure too low???

when i installed the slp oil pump the pressure when its cold crank the psi is at 45 and when the engine warms up it will drop just alittle over 35 and when in gear its at 40 psi....does anyone have an idea of whats going wrong, or what i did wrong...i put the green o ring that it came with, was i supposed to use the black one for more oil psi?

does it go up when u get on it or rev it?? 10 psi per 1000 rpms is safe...mine moves around also

A ring can't increase psi, unless it was the wrong one and is not sealing properly. I'm sure it was ported but did it also come with a higher pressure spring? If not, then you will lose some pressure at the gain of flowing more volume (bigger hole can flow more but will have less pressure).

That is enough oil pressure at idle. I would have installed the higher psi spring, but it's probably not worth it at this point unless you're getting like 50 psi at 6k, then I would do it.

I get about 60 psi at 6k...i really want to go back and install that spring but i lost it...do you think slp would sell me just the spring?
