couple of cam install questions
First off, the cam. TRex (242/248 .608/.612 110+2 lsa The motor-stock internal, bolt on 346. (2001 Z28) Recently put down 349/366 without underdrive pulley and full accessories. (stock water pump, power steering, AC)
On to the questions:
1) Which spring combo of these two. TSPs PRC dual springs/pushrods OR Patriot Gold double springs/comp pushrods. (they are both within $5 total)
2) Should I install new lifters or will my stockers be fine? The engine has 48,XXX miles on it.
3) Many people have run stock timing chains and have no problems. Should I change mine & which one?
4) I'm setting my rev limiter at 7000rpms. Should I bother with ARP rod bolts or leave it alone since I already have the new style rod bolts.
Keep in mind that this is strictly a budget build before I start on a new big inch motor and is not a daily driver.

1) I've always used the PRC duals and haven't had any problems. Worked great for me.
2) Not a bad idea, but with only 48k on it, the stockers still should be in pretty good shape. Do need to realized that stiffer springs and larger lobes will increase the stress and wear though, so the life span of the stockers possibly could be reduced. Comp or the Caddy racing lifters would be a good alternative.
3) I would replace it with a LS2 chain. You've got to tear it apart, might as well add some cheap insurance while you're at it.
4) You could opt for the ARP bolts, but it would be quite a job to chane them with the motor in the car. Stockers should hold up for a while, but how long, I have no clue.

1) I'm told the TSP PRC kit is great by many people..anyone else want to chime in?
2) Anyone with the TRex running their stock lifters, and how hard have you been running them?
3) I am going to use the LS2 timing chain.
4) I know many of you are rockin the stock rod bolts to some wild rpms. I never plan on spinning mine to 7000 except for the occasional track night. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Ya think that applies here for me?

The PRC dual springs will work. New lifters will require you to pull the heads. Stock timing set works, but might as well upgrade while you are in there. I would not spin it to 7k unless you are ready at anytime to deal with haveing to pull the engine.

either spring will work fine.. i believe patriot sends the titanium retainers though so i would tend to lean a little more in there direction. heard nothing but good news from patriot gold springs.
if your replacing the chain you have to remove the oil pump so you might decide to get you a ported ls6 or something... make sure you get a new pickup tube O ring!
