From what I have seen and heard you might get 20 rwhp if you get a decent tune on it not bad if you get it for free or cheap. ooo and youll need to get ls6 valvesprings as well.

i havent dynoed my car yet but when i went from ls6 intake/vararam 12.6 i added a z06 cam and a catback (FWIW) i dropped to a 12.2 a very solid gain and the car is deff. faster all around. gained about 2 mph in the 1/4. I havent tuned the car yet either. I threw the cam in because the front main seal was leaking and had to pull the cover off so i figured i would just throw it in.

If you're gonna go through the trouble of switching cams, you might as well get something bigger in there, unless you're going for more power with stealth from a stock cam. You still have to buy springs anyways, and pushrods don't cost that much. A new cam is "only" 390 dollars anyways.

I like mine, it runs very well (see sig, thats 11.6x @ 118 @ sea level for comparison).

Mine picked up 20 rwhp over the stock cam peak, but at 6000 rpm where the stock cam is done the LS6 is made over 40 rwhp more. At the track after the launch it never sees under 5000 rpm with 26 inch tires and 4.10's.. so it works very well in that respect. You won't notice much of a difference under 4000 rpm from the stock cam unfortunately.

I say do it if you can do it cheap, otherwise go bigger.

I am looking to be more stealth and a stock look and sound. i also wanna keep the car comfortable as a dailey driver or be able to drive a distance without worrying about breaking something.

Look into the CheaTR cam, by Thunder Racing

It supposedly has everything your looking for; stock sound and drivability but has significantly more HP (~30 RWHP) on stock manifolds- even more if you decide on headers later

I got a great deal on one back in 02 and ran it along with LS6 valvesprings and stock pushrods for about 5K miles. I had Lid,ASP,PTB LT's ORY SLP DD, stock 02 heads. Made 366rwhp @ 351rwtq untuned and 376rwhp @ 361rwtq tuned. Car ran really good, especially above 4500rpms and idled like stock. It was a definate increase over stock.

I just bought one for 150 dollars and will be installing it soon. Will 7.400 pushrod's work on this cam??? Sorry to high jack your thread.

The only problem with that cam is it has a good amount of lift, so it wouldn't be a "swap it and forget" type of cam. The springs would definitely need to be watched like any other higher lift camshaft if it is daily driven.
