Default 2001 241 LS1 Heads

I've got a set of 2001 241 heads from my cam install on my Trans AM last year. We had an installation snafuu and needed a new set of heads because the cam was degreed wrong, so I have a set of I think 853 heads.

What options do I have for the 241 heads, they're in good shape. Can I have something other than port/polish them? Thanks.

I dont understand what you mean... you broke your 241 heads and replaced with 853's? How can they be in good condition if they needed to be replaced???

Anyway, considering the price of getting your 241s ported and polished, youre probably better off just selling them and buying a ported set of 243 heads.

Other than port/polish? You mean bigger valves and a valve job? Sure but a Porting them would give you a much better gain, especially if you still hae a 346.

But like guits said, now that you can find CNC'ed 243s for around 1100 completly assembled, it probably wouldn't be worth it to do any work to them.

The 241 heads are fine, the valves got bent. I bought a set of valves/springs from my buddy who didn't feel like taking them out of the head so I got the heads with em. I took the springs out and used the valves.

If the valves got bent you may have messed up the valve guides. It's certain they need a new valvejob.

WERD... Or atleast need to be lapped in. But like it was said, the guides are now suspect.

dont waist ur money on having stock heads ported. they will probably not flow as well as a cnc head and if they do it more then likely cost as much. so I would go with cnc heads from a sponosor>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
