Default Tr230/224 Reverse Split

Just curious about the cam. Has anyone run this cam before? What kind of numbers do you normally see with this cam? How is drivability? Are there better reverse split grinds floating around out there? Looking for good power under the curve, not a dyno queen. Any help will be appreciated, thanks guys!!

This cam has been around since 2001. It is a proven cam in making strong power under the curve. There are literally YEARS of results. FWIW, I ran the first one in my '98 SS Camaro Convertible. Ran awesome! Still a powerful cam because of the solid valve events.

Well I Made 390/380 To The Wheels On A Cam Only 99 Ss With 76k On The Motor And A 12.20 With A 1.7 60ft I Know With Some Suspension Mods And A Trans Rebuild It Would Run A Good High 11 For Shizzle

I Highly Recommend This Cam....has Awesome Street Manners And Sounds Rowdy As Fawk!!!

Thanks for the input Patrick. Just looking for a good cam that has good dcr or can produce good dcr. I'm working with stock 243's, an ls6 intake, and full exhaust. Just want a cam that works well with stock or a little better compression.

Mill those 243s .020" and you'll have great DCR with a TR230/224. Also, don't forget to search, please. There's a lot (whole lot) of info out on this cam.

Yeah man, I tried to play your idle video today but it wouldn't load up at work. I have read and heard nothing but good things about this cam and I am seriously considering it. Do you have to use dual valvesprings with this cam??

Roger that bro. I will do more research on this cam. I personally haven't heard alot about reverse split style cams. Sorry if I just added to an assload of threads already out there about this cam

No problem. I don't think you could go wrong with the grind at all. It's been said several times that there has never been one person ever post negatively about this camshaft.

I think I would like it alot too. I read in another thread that the 224 exhaust duration is for cars with less than optimal exhaust, is that true? My car has full exhaust, lt's, ory, cat-back. Just wondering whether or not more duration on the exhaust side is needed? Or am I getting greedy? My car will have stock 243's, just dont want to go overboard in the cam department.

Actualy it is the opposite. It is for car with less than optimal intake.
Great cam for stock heads and likes high compression too. I wouldn't mill but I would go with .040 gasket, that would be similar to running 61cc chambers, bumping your SCR/DCR in a performing zone.

I had a thread where I had hypothesized doing exactly what Predator said, .040 gasket, unmilled, and had a DCR in the 11.1x:1 range (or is it SCR? I mix 'em up...). I think I am actually gonna go back to looking at this route... I've seen too many good reviews and NEVER a bad one.
