Default Cam help: Unique application

Here is my project and I have put a lot of thought into this. '89 Notchback mustang @ 2750lbs, TH350 with a 4000rpm stall for an ls1, 3.73's in an 8.8. The real kicker to this setup is the engine. I have a purpose and a plan....not just trying to make big numbers, I want this to be a well thought out setup and give 4.6 mustangs a challenge with near equivalent cubes. I have an LM4 4.8 liter V8 out of a 2003 Tahoe. The induction is a GMPP carb intake utilizing the Edelbrock firing module and exhaust is stock truck manifolds with a 150hp plate system later in the game. The engine will be stock other than the addition of a matching cam, springs, pushrods, ls6 oil pump, and Katech rod bolts. Here is what Im looking for: This engine does not have to be streetable, idle doesnt matter, I want to use Comp 918's, very high rpm's are not an issue, ET's mean everything, cam must be VERY nitrous compatible. This is a 100% max effort setup using a basically stock longblock. I currently have 2 cam options but would be happy to have another cam ground. My 2 current options are MS3 on 112 or a 228/226 on 113 with .579 lift. Again, using stock heads (59cc chambers, small valves, 9.5:1 compression) I want the best possible cam for my setup. Please give an off the shelf grind or custom grind with a good explantation. Sorry for the long post....but I want a matched combination and this board is loaded with knowledge.

A magic stick will do the job, i would be sure to run a notched piston so you have enough piston to valve clearence.

For a 4.8? This is indeed a track only car but it has some twists. A cam that is tame in a 346 might not even run worth a damn in a 4.8. Im not turning down the infomation you are offering, but I thought I would need a different kind of grind for this application.

I'd go to some one I trust who knows their **** and have a custom cam ground for your application. Patrick G is a popular choice for custom cam designs.

yea, i would always choose a custom ground cam over anything mass produced. i was just giving an example. he said he wants something that is for a track car, idle doesnt matter, and nos friendly......trex and magicstick were the first EXAMPLES that came to mind
