Default How much does milling affect CC size?

Hey all,

I know I've asked this before and gotten an answer, but I just can't find it or remember. Is there a rule of thumb about how much your combustion chamber shrinks as you mill the heads?

TIA.

The amount changes as you mill farther, look at the chambers and you will see why. The chamber is largest at the bottom so when you first start to mill you may actually get .005 per 1cc, but as you mill farther up where the chamber is smaller you may get .006-.007 per 1cc.

And yes decking the block will get you more of a cc drop than milling the heads.

If you are milling to a target cc amount than you dont go strictly by mill amount, you mill some and have the chambers cc amount measured with fluid.
