Default Stock Valve Springs life span

My car has 121000 miles on it. Are there any gains in replacing the stock tired valve springs? I ran my car for the first time tonight and it went a 13.44 @ 104. Its a 98 T/A with a cutout and T/B bypass. No lid or anything else. Removed front sway bar & spare. Seemed a little on the slow side. Any ideas on what it will take to make this car trap 107-108?

Thanks

Port the throttle body and get an SLP lid for starters. Those are easy mods.

Unless youre breaking up at high RPM, i dont think you need to replace those springs. The soft stock valve springs dont tire out as quickly as stiff and brittle aftermarket ones do. Like mvvette97 said, do a lid and TB. Maybe think about doing headers too. Check all the normal stuff like plugs and air filter, make sure its all in good condition. 13.44 is not a bad time at all for a stock car.
