Default cam question

just bought a new car! all it has is a full exhaust! i have a custom ground comp 239 247 at 651 657 on a 114 (lsk lobes) sittin at the house! my question is how would this cam go with stock heads or should i try and sell it and go with a different cam? not looking to break any records just want something that will perform pretty good!! not a dd! not wanting to spend a lot of money on it as i have another ls1 that i will give a lot more attention!! will probably get a relatively cheap th350 and around a 3500ish stall with stock gears for now!

thanks for any help or suggestions

I hope you have a cam kit (pushrods and valve springs at least), if not, that cam will eat the stock springs for lunch. As for the heads themselves, they should work but I think they will choke the performance of the cam. You're going to want to check PTV clearance as well.

That is a freakin huge cam. If you are just wanting something that will do "pretty good", you might want to get a little smaller cam, like a MS4, or even smaller. Also, I believe that the LSK on exhaust might not be the best idea. Someone more knowledgeable than me can confirm that. Also you will probably want bigger than a 3500 stall. You have to check the PTV and most likely you will need to flycut. I suggest a smaller cam unless it is exclusively track use.

yea i know that i'll need springs. i already have some pushrods. i originally got the cam spec'd for my other car with stock ported heads that have been milled and the guy that spec'd it out said that i shouldn't have any problems with clearance! i'm not out to set any records with it just want something that will make power and do dang good for cam only (meaning no head work and maybe a ls6 intake)
