So I bought a set of "LS6" valve springs from a member. He said they came new on his PRC heads, and they are good to .550" lift...

So I get the box of springs today, and am greeted with a mismatched set of multicolored springs! I've attached a picture of all the colors of the rainbow below... I've got 9 white ones, 1 Blue one (which I believe MAY be an LS6 spring, or a possibly a Comp 918), and 6 Orange ones of various shades...

So, right off the bat I'm pretty unhappy, I bust out the spring pressure tester, and test them all at 1.80". The one blue one is the best of the bunch with a seat pressure of 90 @ 1.80"... The white AND the orange ones all read 75 @ 1.80"...

I believe the white ones are stock... But the orange ones are throwing me off... I'm not going to mention any names, but you know who you are...

Help me out guys!

The orange springs are probably 2003+ LS6 springs but with a 75 seat pressure rating that would not be correct...those things should be at 90 easily. The blue springs or should I say spring is probably an '01 LS6 spring if it reads seat pressure 90 @ 1.800 and open pressure 260, the yellow springs are '02 LS6 springs but the white ones have me stumped hopefully that helps you out a little bit.

According the the Cam sticky, ALL Ls6 springs have a 90 lb seat pressure @ 1.80"... Out of the 16, only the blue one meets that.

The member I bought them from said that he would refund my money after I send them back, so all is well!

I still wonder what the other springs are from though. I highly suspect the white ones are stock.
