Default Take a look at my cam bearing please.

I finally got the heads and cam out of my car tonight. Looking at the front cam bearing, I found the following in the pics below. Also, when I feel around the bearing there is a rough spot at the 6 o'clock posistion. Is the bearing shot? Car has 71K miles on it. Thanks.

If it was smooth, I would say run it but since you have a rough spot it would be a good idea to have them changed. My engine only has 62K on it and my cam bearings looked a lot better than that. Looks like you get to pull the engine unless there is a LOT of room in front of it.

Thats just great. . The engine had good oil pressure before I tore it down. I just hope I didn't screw it up pulling the cam out.

If it had good oil pressure, you might be safe to run it like it is. It's just one of those decissions you have to make. Do I run it like this or spend a lot more money on it??

Well, its pull it and rebuild it, or drive it, blow it up, and then rebuild it. I going to have a guy come over today and have a look at it and see what he thinks. In the end I think I will probably roll the dice.
