Something has bothered me that I never really seen mentioned. When you drop the pan to do the oil pump how do you get it to seal back up? Do you get a new gasket or what?

you dont really have to drop the pan, just loosen the bolts enough for it to fall down a little, then just tighten them back up when done with the pump swap.

So pulling the gasket away like that and retightening it is ok and shouldnt cause a leak?

yeah its ok, just be sure to smear some RTV all over that area after you finish, its extra leakage protectant since there is a lot of mating surfaces in that area..

correct. however every now and then it might/will leak. i have had to lower the pan a second time and apply some sealer in the leaking area before. i recently swapped my pump for the slp version and mine did leak. i felt it mostly had to do with the increased pressure of the aftermarket pump and the age/mileage of the motor.

Nice wheels do0d! THey seem to fit the TA's a lot better than the Camaro's...

I like the engine pic looking up from underneath.. *saved*.. I should be doing the same soon, also... Switching headers eventually.. SLP's are getting old.
