Default My DCR calculator results

Ok I have been playing around with DCR calculator and need some opinions.

I am going to be running the comp 228/230 .571/.573 112 (im guessing +4 advance is ground in) and a set of partiot heads. Trying to find out which heads are going to be best and with what head gasket.

LS6 stage II 59cc with a .051 cometic gasket = 11.46 SCR & 8.83 DCR

LS6 stage II 64cc with a .051 cometic gasket = 10.74 SCR & 8.29 DCR

LS6 stage II 59cc with a .045 cometic gasket = 11.64 SCR & 8.97 DCR

LS6 stage II 64cc with a .045 cometic gasket = 10.90 SCR & 8.41 DCR

any other combo's are welcome. I have read that 8.7 DCR is the highest you want to go for a pump gas car. Which makes me think the first combo is the best. Let me know what you guys think

Id roll with the 59cc, .040 gasket and just order the cam with less ground in advance.

Also plan on flycutting your pistons running a setup like that with 59cc heads..

A combo I had come up with a while ago was the TR230 cam, .040 gasket, NO MILL, and Livernois Stg2 243s. Came out to 11.x:1 IIRC. Your's looks good too, those are some nice CR numbers!

Here was my thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ighlight=TR230

Sorry if I hijacked.

I can't find a cam card on comps website stating how much advance is ground in. Anyone with this cam please chime in

OK, here are the results with +2 advance

LS6 stage II 59cc with a .051 cometic gasket = 11.46 SCR & 8.68 DCR

LS6 stage II 64cc with a .051 cometic gasket = 10.74 SCR & 8.15 DCR

LS6 stage II 59cc with a .045 cometic gasket = 11.64 SCR & 8.81 DCR

LS6 stage II 64cc with a .045 cometic gasket = 10.90 SCR & 8.27 DCR

as long as PTV checks out I think the first combo it the winner

I like the 3rd combo to combat detonation. How far are your pistons out of the hole?

Actualy the real DCR will be less. So anything borderline 8.8 on a calc will work with a good quench and tune 93 octane and 8.6 on 91

They don't have 93 in alot of places around here so I think setting it up for 91 is what I am going to do.

LS6 stage II 59cc with a .051 cometic gasket = 11.46 SCR & 8.68 DCR

This looks like it has the best numbers, will I need to flycut my pistons?

use the head chamber size for compression, not the gasket

If piston to deck -007 then he would be at .044 quench. Very respectable for street.
