Default 853 or 241? need seom quick answers

Hey so ill be quick at explaining this... i have a stock 2000 trans am and am rebuildin the moter completly... i have stock 853 casting heads and will be putting in a MS3 with some nice lifters and stuff... u know along with the cam install it and ls2 timiing chain.. i was wondering...

if i have the chance to buy some low mileage 241 casting stock heads... for like 200 bucks... should i buy them? will it help my setup? any help possible would be great... thanks

It won't make a 5hp difference. There's not really much difference between the two. This is coming from someone who has ported 853s and 241s. Stock-for-stock they are very similar with the 241 being only marginally nicer. I would just keep my $200 and spend it on something that would make a bigger difference.

In any case you should rebuild your 853's, Patriot offers that casting ported with duals for like 950$ or so, keep stock size valves for PTVC.
