OFF TOPIC-> How does oil make its way up the pushrod?

Does the lifter have a hole in the top and the does the rod have a hole in the bottom and the lifter pushes the oil ALL the way to the top of the motor in sufficient quantity to lubricate the rockers, etc...

ON TOPIC->

I think the main reason being that you can actually pump ALL of your oil from the crankcase into the upper end and starve the motor of oil, so some ppl run restricted pushrods to keep all the oil from making it to the top of the motor at once.
