Question Need serious cam help!!! Sponsors look too!!!

Ok, I need to choose a new cam for my setup. I'm running 5.7 ls1 241 heads with the patriot dual gold springs, 2.02 and 1.57 valves, valve drop is .105 and .135, and they are milled .030. I am running the 90/90 and nearly all bolt-ons. I have 42lb. injectors but I will be downsizing and a tci 3500 which I will probly trade out as well. I might run a dry >150 shot. I currently have a comp 222/222 so I want to go bigger but remain streetable. Looking for usable power not just peak #'s! I have looked at the tsp tq.v2, tr cams, futral, vengence, lg, etc. but can't decide! Need major help and feedback please! Thanks! Chris

Also, I will not be flycutting so I can't go too big. Pat G suggessted a 230/230, howevernow the valve drop is too much and with the nitrous I think a split cam would be a better choice. Patrick, if you see this what do you think?

Not much bigger, but a 224/224 .581/.581(or .563/.563) 114 should fit without any problem. You would pick up some power & it would be useable power under the curve. Also would still be very streetable. There are several cars that have ran very low 11's with this cam & a set of heads.

Just food for thought.

Wow. You're going to a greater than 150hp dry shot? That's one big ole dry shot. Stock bottom end?

LOL that makes more sense. You might wanna edit that. That's what threw me off and sidetracked me here.
There's a lot of options with a cam. And streetable is tough to define. You gotta just decide what you like and go drive a car with a similar setup. Most of the locals around me agree that the G5X2 is one of the best all-around cams ever. But if you get a top-end cam, it's not like you can't downshift.

Here are some choices if anyone has any feedback about them. Speed Inc's s15, tr224/227, fms f13?, vengence 226/228, hpe c cam, pat g's 230/236, or tsp's v.2.

Well, of course the FMS is proven. Futral cams are impressive. I won't buy from 2 of the companies you have listed because they are jokes. They always put out inflated dyno numbers and for some reason, most of the newer guys seem to believe it. I guess if lying gets you money, so be it. But I'd rather make it honest.

What lift & LSA on those are you lookin at?? Thats whats gonna effect your PTV the most. And with the heads already milled, your gonna have to be careful not to go too big & end up having to flycut to get it to fit.

NO! Lift doesn't affect PTV. LSA, ICL, and duration do.

What do you want someone to tell you? Asking what cam to get is like asking us to tell you what to eat for lunch.

One problem you might have is the valve drop. You lost quite a bit beign at .105 on the intake and .135 on the exhaust. The F13 will definitly be tight and I am not 100% sure that it would fit. The best bet would be to go with the F11 on a 114+2 LSA. I had a customers setup with very similar valve drop, and that cam was about as big as we could go with "safe" PtV clearance numbers. Hope this helps you out
