Loud Vacuum Noise (Intake Manifold)
This is probably a dumb questions but here we go...
I am hearing a loud sucking sound coming from somewhere around the intake manifold. It seems to be towards the center or back of the manifold near the firewall. Could there be a vacuum leak back there somewhere or is the LS1 intake manifold that thin that it sounds like this all the time?

Well, does the car run rough or irradic? There is a large grommet at the back that houses the map sensor and the brake booster fitting. That could be the source but a leak like that would make it run like $#!+. Mine always sucks loudly but I believe it's from a larger t-body and free flowing intake.

Figured out the problem. It was the hard plastic vacuum line that controls the vents. It had come disconnected from the 90* elbow off the back of the manifold.
