Gains from a cutout with a cam?

Gains from a cutout with a cam? would it be worth it for me to have a cutout when i add a cam. I mean no use in spending money on a cutout if its not going to do me any good.

Whats the rest of the exhaust set-up? Cam specs? Heads as well?
On my car (heads/cam) I had a Hooker catback and ory setup before I switched to tru-duals. When I closed the cutout, it was a noticable difference, so I opened it back up and never capped it again.
While it was only bolt-ons, it only gained 4rwhp, couldnt feel any difference.
