What grade / weight of Rotella to break in engine with?

Default What grade / weight of Rotella to break in engine with?

All I can find is 20w50 for diesels... surely not this?

i have never seen 20-50 rotella. they make 15-40 and 10-30 in a white bottle. you can find it at walmart. they also make 5-40 synthetic in a blue bottle. i would use the stuff in the white bottle for break. all of these oils will say for use in diesels but that isn't a problem.

Thanks. I bought a bottle of the 20w50 3 weeks ago, and my lifters have been soaking in it since. Think I should clean them out and soak them in a lighter oil or don't worry about it?

i wouldn't think it would matter but i am not an expert when it comes to that.
