Default CheaTR and 383?

Hey guys just a quick question that I've been wondering about...How would the cheaTR cam do with AFR's and a 383?...Would the extra cubes help it much?...Or would this be a bad combo all together?...I've seen the cheaTR seems to average about 390RWHP or so on stock manifolds and stock short block, any idea how it would do with the additional cubes?...

Thanks!

You can run a bit larger cam in a 383 without a hint of lope. I wouldnt say its a bad combo altogether, but you can go bigger and still keep the stealthy sound.

Agreed. At least go for something almost into the 230/230 range

it would do ok but it wouldnt be an optimized setup and leaving alot on the table as a 383 can take more cam and your gonna need a good exahust/intake setup for the 383 to breathe anyway . the cheTR is more desigened to be used with manifolds/not as free flow exhuast setups

Seeing as you are planning on using AFR heads why not give TonyM a call there. Im sure he would be pleased to help you out. Get the low down "from the horses mouth" as it were.

That made me think of something.

Find Tony's 383 thread, and read test 1 with the 383 (or if you read engine masters its one page 46 of the winter 06 issue) that seems to be exactly what your looking for.
