Default Canton LS1 Competition Oil Pan

I recently purchased a Canton LS1 Competition Oil Pan. This was purchased for a friend. When removed from the box, we were concerned with a welded area. I contacted the vendor that I ordered the item from and they assured me that the pan was 100% perfect. I would like to know if anyone else has any experience with this oil pan and can confirm if the pan is fine to use. I am afraid of having the pan installed and something going wrong. Any input is greatly appreciated. I have attached a few pictures of the area I am concerned with.

Has anyone else purchased this pan and had any issues?

The canton pans have a rep for being junk on the ls1. There is a thread in the drag racing tech section right now describing some of the problems. Sell it and keep the stocker or get the moroso with the extended pickup tube.

I would have expected a nicer piece for how much it costs. It looks like you weren't expecting what you got, I would try to send it back.

The welding there looks to have been mistakenly performed on a bend (break) where it's not needed. Seeing as how the sealing surface was ground flat, the mistake shouldn't affect the pan's performance in any way
