Default Cam Help....

Im looking for a cam that has the least amount of lope to it but the most power....I dont mind a little lope but not alot....My goal is around 450rwhp bolt ons....I want a good idle not stalling or surging or bucking...none of that! I want to be able to start it up and go and be able to sit at a stop light with the AC blasting with no problems...

I will be using Pacesetter LTs, catted Y, and Hooker CB

I was looking at the FM11 (228"/230" .576"/.595" 112 - 114LSA)

I want something that has a good solid powerband from a low rpm and hold it till redline.

What do you guys think?? If you have any suggestions or opinions PLEASE POST!!! Also if you have any idle vids of what you reccomend PLEASE POST THEM TOO!!!!

you will never hit 450rwhp n/a cam only with a small cam. f-14 w/ported 90/90 sounds more like it. and you will have to lose the catted y. see my sig for dyno results with f-13. and anything with a 112lsa will have lope, but will make better avg. power than a 114lsa.

Ive seen dyno charts on here of people using a cam like I mentioned above with heads and makes 450rwhp...

also I forgot to mention Ill be using cutouts before the cats...so will a 114lsa lope less than say a 112lsa?

you never mentioned heads, the parts you listed sounded like a cammed stock head set-up. yes the higher the lsa the less lope. but it will also shift your powerband higher up in the rpm's. if you have a good tuner they can tune out the chop/lope. at first my f-13/112lsa was a door shaker, but now with good tuneing and a 900rpm idle it has some rumble but not to nasty(u can still tell it has a cam). but with a cutout open it sounds pretty good. it lost just a hair on the low end(with heads you prolly wont notice a difference at all ) but after 3000rpms power never falls off all the way to 6500. full weight, stock clutch, stock suspension, 9" w/4.11's, and some small 16" et streets it ran a 11.9@116. f-11 with some GOOD heads should be in the 450rwhp range

I know Thunder Racing has a Cheater cam, that pulls good power (so i've heard) that sounds for the most part stock.

yeah, you will have to get a good set of heads though with a small cam to pull that power. I put down 421rwhp with an ms4, but it won't be what you are looking for. Also that was through stock ls6 heads. It drives fine, but i have a good tune. It doesn't like below 1500 rpms though. But i can sit at a redlight with the ac wide *** open with no problems. My cars an m6 though.

+1, its all in the tune, but if you don't won't the lope, you don't want a big cam, go with like a 224/224 or even a 224/228. I would say that is probably what you will be happy with. Thats just me talking though. But a cam isn't what makes the car loud, its you exhaust. I have slp dual/dual on my car and its no louder than it was, it just lopes and is very noticable.

The opinions above are right on, you're going to have to give a little to make what you want. With what you want as far as sounds goes, I would have said an MTI stealth or B1/C1. I would also suggest the F13 but based on the power you want, but it's going into loping.
And like was stated above, a tune is everything. An F13 is a very good cam, with a great tune. I like an MTI X1, again a must with a great tune. If you have a tuner that is good, you'd be happy with an F13 like what was suggested.
Oh, and stay away from 110lsa with what you are wanting. Stick with a 112, or a 114lsa.

Well I got my cam installed last month and have absolutely no problems with it. It just so happens to be a F-11 114 LSA through Futral. If you get it you will love it.
