Default will this combo work?

I've decided to modify my relatively stock 1998 A4 Z28 and make it a little more radical. My goal is to be able to pass emissions, use it as a daily driver, and take the car to a high 11 second 1/4 mile.

What I have on the car now and it runs 13.4->13.6 in the ¼ mile:

Whisper lid
MAF
SLP Takeoff exhaust
MSD wires
NGK plugs

I went to a local speed shop and this is what they suggested:

TEA Stage 2 Ls1 heads
Comp Cam 224/228 .563/.563 114 lsa
Ls6 intake
SLP long tube headers w/ cats
SLP oil pump
vigilante 3200 converter
bmr control arms
bmr torque arms
bmr panhard bar
bmr 2 point strut brace
electric flowtech cutout
nitto drag radials
nx 50-150 adjustable system
nx bottle heater + pressure gauge
255l high pressure inline pump
msd window switch
dyno-tune

My questions are:

Will this combo pass emissions?

Does this seem street-able?

Does anyone here have a similar setup that I can compare against (I tried to search the forum for the cam numbers with not a lot of luck)?

Is this going to blow up parts like nobodies business? I’m concerned about the rear-end and the transmission being able to stand up to the additional power.

Thanks in advance

Default Re: will this combo work?

You can hit high 11's with boltons in an A4 pretty easily.

Here is what I'd consider doing first:

Longtube headers with Ypipe (both cat Ypipe and offroad Ypipe)

~4000 stall converter

Free mods: Free Ram air, descreened stock MAF, T-body bypass etc

3 inch cutout installed in your intermediate pipe

Aftermarket air lid

ET streets screwed on stock rims

skinnies up front if you can afford them

free weight reduction

LS1 edit tuning if necessary for shift points etc

That should get you there or REAL close. If that doesnt get you 11's I would consider throwing in a cam. However I would go with a 224/224 114LSA cam with 2-4 degrees advance ground in and Comp 918 blue striped springs. that with tuning will definitely hit 11's in the combo above with decent weather and be a LOT cheaper.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the info! I'll add the Y-pipe to my ever increasing list

I want to be able to drive the car in the occasional rainstorm, i.e. if it rains on the way back from the drag track or auto-x. I want to avoid using ET streets for now because I hear they are not very safe in the rain.

I'm think the setup they gave me is a little more extreme then I was looking for (not that its a bad thing), but I think that's because I asked them what can you build me for 10k.
