Take it to a machine shop and pay $20 to have your heads disassembled

if you are talking about valve springs they sell a tool to take them off it has this thing that you screw up to the valves and it holds them there while you put the springs down to get the keepers off.

If the welder doesn't work how about gravity? Try taking the springs off with the head upside down.

All you need to do is put a small socket under the valve (or something of similiar size). That'll prevent the valve from going down. You'll have to put some weight on the head too. I've been using the Moore spring compressor tool and that's what I do and it works like a charm. It's a POS though...I've used it on about 3 spring swaps and it's already warped and literally falling apart.

It's not big deal if the valve opens. Just sit the head on the bench with the chambers face down. Once you have the spring compressed, just tap the retainer with an extension and a hammer. That'll pop the keys loose.

I used my fingers. Laid the head on its side on my work bench.
