Default Slight "ticking" while spraying?

Ok, I normally run a 100 dry shot, but I put in the 125 jet for a few highway runs. I noticed a slight "ticking" noise in the upper rpm's say above 5000 and only when on the bottle. I didn't hear it so much in 2nd gear but it was noticeable in 3rd. Does not do it while n/a. The frequency of the "ticking" is approximately once per second like a grandfather clock. Also I have been noticing after coming to a stop (at a light or whatever) the revs drop down to about 500 as opposed to the normal idle of 750, but they go back up and level out after the initial drop. It sounds as if the car is getting not enough air/fuel and has to adjust. Never noticed it until after the "ticking" also. The car runs and drives fine other than the issues stated. I like to drive my car hard, but am paranoid as to unusual noises. Any ideas to these issues?

More nitrous without a tune for it will cause you to run leaner. Lean = detonation. That's most likely what you're hearing. You don't want to do this.

Every "tick" you hear is eating away at your pistons. You're detonating. Not good with hyperutectic pistons. Give it more fuel.

Wouldn't he be detonating far more than once per second?

I was also running a 93/110 octane mix at the time, I figured I wouldn't have had any det probs with that. But it was only about once per second and not too loud, barely noticable over wot and only to me, my passenger didn't hear anything.

You don't have to hear detonation for there to be any.

Put the 100 shot jets back in until you get it tuned...

Detonation is no joke. I had 1 of my fuel pumps go out (double pumper in tank) in my GN, and the single couldn't keep up. I leaned out so fast it was instant machine gun detonation sounds followed by the loudest BANG you've ever heard along with the front end jumping up a bit.. then dead silence. I pulled over and my crank pulley was facing straight down. Half my oil pan was gone, along with the front of the block and half the front cover. 2 connecting rods broke in half. The crank snapped in half. timing chain gone. Valves hit. It looked like someone threw a grenade into the front of the motor and pulled the pin. Literally. I had to get an entire new 109 shortlock and had the heads revalved. It wasn't cheap.

I put the 100 jet back in but haven't sprayed it since, however last night I noticed the same "ticking" coming from n/a on 4500+ rpm's, is it still detonation or could it be something else?

It's probably something else.

I think this thread got blown out of proportion. He's only talking about an extra 25hp. I'm sure if he had a nitrous tune to begin with it was probably already on the safe side. I don't see an extra 25hp being a huge concern.

Now that he's also experiencing the same sound n/a, it appears to be entirely not related to the nitrous incident.

Just thought I'd let everyone know who posted in my thread with suggestions, that the problem is gone. I scanned it and it read multiple cylinder misfire, I changed the plugs which were fairly new, but found out that a couple were a bit loose, and the problem is gone. Also my o2's were bad as well, anyway, she runs like a champ now.
