Default Anyone with a 228R cam and stock rear and Clutch

Hi, i am going to buy a 228R cam from texas speed. I want to know if anyone has this with stock rear and clutch. I dont want to put a new rear in it because i dont take it to the track but i do step on it alot on the street. I dont want to put a new clutch in my car because it is almost new. If i get this cam, will i need a new rear and clutch. Please let me know, Thanks.

if you don't go to the track at all you may not need a new rear for a long time but you will probably need a stronger clutch pretty quickly.i guess it depends on how rough you drive your vehicle.

yeah shouldnt need a new rear end with that cam. clutch i would replace a little bit down the line b/c it will help out. what other mods do you have b/c you should do all bolt-ons b4 a cam swap to get the best out of your cam.

Yea, i plan on getting lts and a catted y. I also have an ls6 intake i havent installed yet. I am going to get the cam and lts and intake installed at the same time so i can feel a big SOTP difference.

you rear end would be fine, but the stock clutch would suffer, you can always get a complete LS7 clutch for $400, can't beat that price for what you get.

I ran a much larger cam with the stock clutch for over 40,000 miles and then went with a LS7 clutch LS2 flywheel when I went with a different cam..no problem with either clutch..as long as your running street tires a stock rear end will hold up fine..go to the track and use sticky tires and it is just a matter of time before the rear end tears up..
