98 valve covers wont fit 5.3 heads right?

Default 98 valve covers wont fit 5.3 heads right?
just found this out... but they wont fit right? The bolt pattern is different?

just found this out... but they wont fit right? The bolt pattern is different?
That is correct. The 97-98 heads are the only LS1 style heads that have the perimeter style bolts, and the valve covers only work on those heads. All the LS1 style truck heads have the center bolts. You can still use 5.3L heads on your 98 engine though, you'll just need to get two new valve covers, new coil brackets, and you may need to do something with your PCV system since its in a different location on the 97-98s than any other year.

im not worried about the PCV system since I already have that catch can mod and I can arrange that any which way

hmmm now's the time to get a polished set of valve covers LOL

so i need the covers and brackets

anyone have good prices on the set?

The PCV fitting on the back of the drivers side valve cover is different on center bolt/perimeter bolt covers. You'll need the right one.
