can an engine be messed up but trying to start it?

Default can an engine be messed up but trying to start it?

well my car ran out of gas a a body shop, they kept cranking and crankin gon it, they killed the pump, and now im wondering if they could have hurt the motor

Shouldn't hurt anything with the Engine, give the Starter a good run..
They should buy you a new Fuel Pump.. and put it in if you trust them.

What the hell is it with Shops ******* up alot of people's cars lately?

well it was all most empty when i droped it off, and when they where pulling it in for teh weekend it stalled (out of gas) i think they kept tryin to crank on it and killed the pump (overheated it)

yea im starting to go crazy and if you hear about a complete body shops staf was shot and then the shop burnt down it was me

They'll probably screw you on the pump . . . starter took a beating . . . doubt any harm came to the motor.

Tow that car to another shop for the work . . . I wouldn't trust a shop that did that to do ANYTHING to the car afterward.

Go back after dark and do some reconnaisance
