Got my Patriot Extreme Gold springs today. Besides the tape coming loose and sending valve locks, seats, retainers, and valve stem seals all over the box with packing peanuts, I just have one issue. I have been reading the LS1howto.com writeup nearly daily (sad I know), and I have 16 valve stem seals, but they are ALL brown. Did GM change something, or am I SOL and need to get 8 of the black ones? They all look identical, not just the same color. Now I just need to find the 32nd lock

No you are not dreaming, they are all exhaust seals and it is common practice to use those on all valves.

Youre good. Many people actually prefer since they're all high temp rated then.
