Well first off your going to need a higher stalled converter, and the rest of your bolt-ons. I ran a 225 single pattern on a 112 lsa with a 3500 verter, and it was a nice driving and performing combo. I would suggest you get something like a TR224 on a 114, with a nice tune you can pass emissions with that.
No, it won't sound super aggressive, but compared to stock, you'll know there's a cam in there. Coupled with a nice 3500ish stall, you will feel a nice increase in performance.

weeeellll....kindda.
it definatly adds to it.
the lower the lobe separation angle typically the choppier the idle....
BUT....the lower the LSA...the less likely you are to pass emissions. that's why he suggested the 114 on the cam over the 112.
remember the stock ls1 cam is about 119 LSA (early years) and the LS6 is about the same.
an option for the idle that you want would be to bring the idle rpm down...should make it chop a bit more...but you'll run a higher risk of stalling

What gives you the lope is overlap. If you have any significant amount of overlap at all, it will NOT pass emissions testing. If you get the cam I suggested, lower the idle to about 650, pull some timing out at idle, and run an open cutout or true duals with aggressive mufflers (sweet thunders, bullets, single chambers), it will have a nice sound, but still far from radical.
No, there is nothing you can do with your stock cam to make it lope, besides pulling a plug wire or two off
